On this lovely fall morning, the final day of September, the first music track I hear on StreamingSoundtracks.com is …. “Christmastime Is Here” from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Call me Grinch, but it’s too darn early for Christmas music. It’s bad enough that the craft stores start stocking Christmas in July. Can we at least wait until after Halloween to start decking the halls?

September 30, 2009 at 2:59pmAgreed. I don’t want to hear anything remotely like Christmas music until November. Turning half the year into “Christmas” just seems silly to me.

September 30, 2009 at 3:19pmAs late as 1975 I held off letting the Oread Shop’s Christmas stuff out before Thanksgiving. Wow, that is almost unheard of now! And as the years progressed, I had folks come into Lawrence from KC who I let look at the stuff stored in boxes in my back room because they would not be coming back to Lawrence before Christmas.

September 30, 2009 at 3:37pmAbsolutely no Christmas decorations for me until the Sunday before. I can’t even think about it until December 1st.

September 30, 2009 at 9:32pmThis makes Dr. P really cranky
He firmly believes that Christmas should be celebrated from the day after Thanksgiving until the first week in January, no sooner.
