I’m slowly recovering from an upper respiratory infection, or so they tell me. With the meds suppressing my immune system, my symptoms were less of the stuffy-sneezy-wheezy sort, and more of the why-the-hell-do-my-joints-hurt-and-skin-itch? sort. Fun. Not. I’m mostly through a course of 875mg augmentin twice a day, and I feel much better. If past experience predicts future performance, I’ll be getting a refill or upgrade in about three weeks.
I most likely picked up the bug at Worlds of Fun the weekend prior. Yes, folks — after 12 years in KC, I finally went to the amusement park for the company picnic. And I rode rides for the first time in about 15 years. I was a little nervous about the wear and tear on my neck and spine, but worked my way up the complexity scale from what I remember as “The Scrambler” and bumper cars to the double-diamond “Detonator” drop and “Mamba” roller coaster. And then I went home. And started incubating the previously mentioned upper respiratory infection.
Not much else going on. Certain aspects of my work environment continue to baffle and frustrate me, but the past few days have been quietly productive. Let’s hope the trend continues.

July 7, 2006 at 1:25pmCongrats on getting better. I’m envious.
After four doctor visits, and four different prescriptions, I’m about the same. My next play is an appointment with an ENT set for next Thursday.
