Last night, I sent out the first ConQuesT 40 E-Update (electronic progress report) with the following key points:
Register By April 30 For Best Rate
Discount membership rates end April 30. Don’t wait! You can register online or mail it in the old fashioned way. See details at http://conquestkc.org/registration.htm
Hotel Discount Expires May 5
ConQuesT 40 will be held at our new hotel, the fabulous Hyatt Regency Crown Center. Our incredibly low room rate of $83 / night + tax expires May 5. Book your room now! We expect the hotel to sell out early due to other events that weekend. See details at http://conquestkc.org/hotel.htm.
The mailing list was very short, but I also cc’d four relevant Yahoo Groups of which I’m a member. And now I’m sharing it with you, too. If you want to join the mailing list, follow the instructions at the bottom of the e-update page. If you want to go to ConQuesT, get off your tush — go register and book a room!

April 23, 2009 at 3:03amHey – what was the parking situation for NakaCon?
verminiusrex
April 23, 2009 at 11:39amI think most people parked in the hotel garage, it was something like $15/day but it conveniently charges it to the room. The garage never totally filled up far as I can tell.

April 23, 2009 at 2:41amI have done as commanded – I have registered and booked a room. I have a bad feeling about parking, what was the arrangement last year?

April 23, 2009 at 3:02amParking will be “interesting”. This is our first year at the Hyatt Crown Center. I believe the Hyatt charges for $14.50/day for parking, but we’ve heard that we can park for free elsewhere in the complex, but NOT the retail lot. I’m trying to nail down details and a map, and will post it when I get it confirmed.

April 23, 2009 at 2:47pmI’m stunned — stunned, I say! — that the Hadley Rille Books party with the parallel launch of Buffalito Destiny wasn’t one of your bullet points for ConQuesT.
Did I mention I was stunned?

April 23, 2009 at 2:53pmWell…. is it part of the official program, or an evening party? Inquiring minds want to know. Spill it, dude.

April 23, 2009 at 3:40pmThat’s a fair question, but i don’t know the answer. Eric is handling things at ConQuesT.
Balticon, the launch party is indeed part of the official program.
