Brrr…. welcome to the Ice Planet Hoth. I scraped a half inch of ice off my car earlier this evening so I won’t have to do it in the morning. Not only is it supposed to be incredibly, nastily, single-digit cold, it’s supposed to be windy. Argh.

Grrr… Time Warner Cable downloaded it’s “new and improved” software to my digital cable box on Thursday. Since I use my ReplayTV interface instead of TWC’s, I wouldn’t much notice or care EXCEPT that now, when my ReplayTV tries to tune to channel 32, TWC’s software interprets it as “channel 2”; ditto channel 63 goes to 3, channel 71 goes to 1… recognize a pattern here? I sure as hell wish TWC did. I’ve called three times. The first guy didn’t even know was a DVR was. The next guy up the ladder at least made an effort to document the problem and open a trouble ticket. When I called him a second time, he said they were going to push through a fix by end of day Friday. On Saturday it seemed as if they had fixed it, but nothing has recorded properly today. Grrr…
