OMG. I just ordered a Samsung NC10 netbook… With a little luck, my sweetie’s mojo, and New Egg’s delivery guarantee, it should arrive before I leave for Dysfunctional Family Theatre: The TurkeyFest Edition.
“Dysfunctional Family Theatre: The TurkeyFest Edition” I can’t stop laughing at that. I laugh because I am subject to the same farce, just with different faces in a different town.
I just looked up the NC10. Very cool! I’ll probably get a laptop sometime in the next six months, and I am trying to decide what kind. What made you choose that model over something else? Were you specifically looking for something small and light? I like the portability, but I’d probably use it close to home more of the time, so I might opt for something bigger and with more features.
P.S. I also liked “Dysfunctional Family Theatre: The TurkeyFest Edition.” I may just steal that to use in a novel sometime. Are you heading to West Virginny?
Re: the NC10. I wanted something I could use to check email and surf the web. The NC10 is under 3 pounds, has a near-normal size keyboard and a bigger screen than most netbooks — and up to 8 hours of battery life. It has a faster chip and twice the RAM of my desktop system, and since it runs Windows XP, it will run the ancient software I still use. If I went with a “real” laptop, I’d have to upgrade all my software, too.
Re: “Dysfunctional Family Theatre: The TurkeyFest Edition.” Yep. Mom is still recuperating from knee replacement surgery, the two youngest sisters are call-the-cops-I’m-not-coming-if-she’s-there feuding, and the other sister’s kids are TEENAGERS now…. and I get to be chief cook, bottle washer, and referee for the week. (Yay me. Pass the merlot.)
