…. and Mother Nature gave me a doozy of a birthday present: It was 70+ degrees in KC today!
Of course, tomorrow bodes ill with threats of freezing temps, freezing rain, and other freezing crap falling from the sky to coat our roadways and incite madness amongst drivers who, on most days, would merely be bad multi-taskers. Tomorrow, they’ll be bad multi-taskers rushing around like crazy people and driving too fast for conditions in their attempts to “get home safely.” (Yeah. Right.)
Anyway, Sweetie took me out for sushi at Domo in Brookside. (We highly recommend the Dragon Roll and the Volcano Roll. Yum!) I chatted with Mom and Sister #2, and got a card and book money from Sis. My present from Sweetie? Tickets to the Alan Parsons Live concert later this month.
All in all, it was a good birthday. Now, I must prepare for my midlife crisis…. it’s due to arrive any day now….

February 5, 2008 at 8:42pmRe midlife crisis—mine took the form of admitting I was an SF geek and deciding I would, too be a writer rather than being something else that was safe and ordinary and had a pension plan. My next one will probably involve going to become a whale trainer at Sea World or moving to Hawaii to live on the beach (2nd palm to the left), to never wear shoes again and to find a really long extension cord to power my computer.
Happy birthday

February 5, 2008 at 10:25pmThanks. I could definitely enjoy a crisis that involved a warm sandy beach….

February 5, 2008 at 10:38pmI’m considering carving coconuts into monkeyheads for the tourists (yes, I know there are no monkeys in Hawaii, but tourists will buy the most amazing crap-I know I did). I considered setting up so someone can turn the coconut milk into pina coladas and someone could make the little clay cups to hold the coconut drinks. You can join me if you want. Remember 2nd palm tree to the left on the big island.

February 8, 2008 at 4:18amHappy Birthday, Goddess A! Sorry I’m so late with the birthday wishes. The little guy was sick, and NFPW and my book editor have been taking turns cracking the whip, as well. I’m glad you had a good one!
