A few weeks ago, beastie behavior guru and fellow Yard Dog Press author shadowhelm recommended Ssscat automated cat repellent to keep the Trouble Twins away from things I don’t want the Trouble Twins bothering. Such as a Christmas tree, or the kitchen counter, or … the open door to my home office. (Lots of trouble in here the little beasties can get into, and trouble they will…) It’s essentially a can of compressed air, with a motion-controlled trigger on top.
So, this morning I’m enjoying the blissful quiet, punctuated period “PSSSTTTT”s followed by the thundering patter of puddy paws as they retreat to a safe distance down the hall.
Thanks, shadowhelm!

December 11, 2007 at 4:10pmAm I seeing that right? She’s between the wall and Electronic City?
Cats amaze me- they smoosh themselves into tiny spaces on their own, then refuse to go in a carrier that has a huge opening as if you’re trying to crush them. Crazy!

December 11, 2007 at 6:05pmUm, yeah. She’s between the wall and the file cabinet. Behind her lies the tangle of cords for the computer, stereo, and tv. Ahead lies madness.
Next week, we take them in for their annual shots. We’re going to attempt to get them both in the same, standard-sized kitty transport container. If we can get them in it, they’ll snuggle contentedly. Getting them in it would be the hard part.
