Despite the annoying little hitchhikers living in my kidney, I’m heading out of town tomorrow for five days. I’ll be at the National Federation of Press Women‘s annual conference in Richmond VA. One of my oldest and dearest friends (and fellow LJ’r) petrini1 will be there, along with another dear friend of ours. We’ve been wreaking havoc at these conferences together since 1993… and we’re gonna do it again! It’ll be fun! Later, ya’ll.

September 24, 2007 at 9:18pmActually it’s a little like an sf con, but for women in journalism and communications fields. There are panels, workshops, and speeches punctuated by a lot of foot stomping in support of the First Amendment; a dealer’s room, an exhibition of award-winning work by members, and plenty of eating, drinking, and shopping. Press women love to shop. And drink. (And this year, a few of them even wore costumes. Long story.)

September 24, 2007 at 9:22pmHey! The weather only becomes an issue when there’s ONLY the two of us in the same city. When all THREE of us are together, the weather’s fine! (Okay, so it was a little overcast in Richmond last week — but that tropical storm never actually came ashore!)
