I’m back, minus one gallbladder. All seems to have gone well, or so they tell me. Spent one night in the hospital, and I’m glad I did. The drugs are better there. For now, it’s bland food (my regular diet!) and LorTabs. Gonna be moving slow for a while, and no heavy lifting. (Hear that, cat? You’ll have to carry your own fat self up the stairs to bed! And stay off my belly!)

June 20, 2005 at 12:38pmI know you said that you wouldn’t get to keep your gall bladder (once it had traveled beyond the confines of your body), but did you at least get to say goodbye? How often do you get the chance to see organs that you’ve been carrying around for years and years? Huh? Huh?

June 20, 2005 at 6:52pmit runs in the family…
Your long lost cousin Henri here – my gallbladder came out in December and it is the best thing I ever did. Within 4 days I was craving a single with cheese from Wendy’s. My husband was ordered to bring them to me – he resisted, but I won. I can eat tomatoes again – and crab meat, bacon, basically anything I want. I promise the eating thing gets much easier.
Sorry to learn about all your other maladies. Nice to know our family is so deeply afflicted with autoimmune issues – maybe that explains my fibromyalgia. That, or all the chemicals I was exposed to as a child. Stupid, stupid parents…

OMG! Henri! How are ya, sweetie? It’s been a LONG time. Email me. Use the link on my website if the other addresses don’t work.
Steph and I pinnned most of our autoimmune issues on my Mom’s side of the family, but Dad had pancreatitis so bad one summer it nearly killed him. Steph had her gallbladder out last summer. It was two weeks before she could eat solid food, but she seems to have bounced pretty well back after that. And you remember Grandma Eubanks — she was always complaining about her digestion!
